Introduction to Basic Electronics(For Beginners) Tutorial 1
RUDIMENTS OF ELECTRONICS
Before we get started, let me make one thing clear to you (the reader).
Electronics is not hard as you might be thinking..... So my advice to you is that relax and make yourself comfortable 'cos I'm going to teach you some secrets to understanding electronics the simple way...This secret is not taught in schools so relax and sit your ass down as I take you through this course. At the end of this whole course you will become the master of your own electronics stuffs.I promise you.
•FINDING THE RIGHT SPOT•
So with all that being said let's get going.
Now before you can master electronics , you need both understanding of theory and practical...
For the practical we need to set up a mini lab to fit our standard (basics).I call it a mini lab 'cos it's just some basic tools and materials on a working desk...i assume you have a desk already so we won't cover that into details.or if you don't have one a table might work or you can get one on amazon heregt;>
Simply put you must have a mini lab similar to the image below...
Note:When setting up your working environment you don't want everything to look clumsy...so just get small containers and some space for smaller components and others in order to free up working space.
•TOOLS,MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT•
When you're just getting started in electronics,it's quite difficult to know what tools are or aren't essential or what are the best tools .But as beginners i will take you through only simple tools for now.when we are progressing you'll come across advanced tools which we will discuss later in this series of tutorials.
So let's begin :
1)Soldering station kit
The first tool you need in your mini lab is the most required of all the tools..the soldering station.
So you might ask "what is a soldering station?" well a soldering station is just a soldering iron which comes with soldering materials and other stuffs. Some have a helping hand for holding things in place when soldering.we will talk about soldering in our later advanced tutorials where i will teach you all about soldering stations and how to use them in soldering...and also how to solder components on boards.(PCB,s and Veroboards).
So go get one for yourself 'cos we will make use of it in our future tutorials.. Or you can get an affordable one at Amazon less than a $100.00 but with much quality kits....This is the one I'm having .i also got it on amazon.check it out...
2)Screw driver sets.
The second tool you need in your lab is a set of various types of screw drivers.
So why do we need screw drivers? We are going to be analysing real time circuits from old electronic pcb boards. You will need a screw driver to open this devices in order to analyse the board. And if you have the board already you still need to get these tools 'cos they make your mini lab completed and you might require their usage in the nearest future. So get your screw driver sets ready. You can check out here on amazon ...I have sort out the cheapest but of best quality for you guys...they are magnetic so just order one here >>>
3)Digital multimeter.
Any electronics lab without a multimeter is incomplete. We need multimeters to measure different kind of electric quantities.Ranging from voltage ,resistance ,current etc.
A digital multimeter helps us to measure in digits.so this maybe required to check our theoretical solutions in a practical way.Later on in subsequent tutorials we will go in depth on how to use the multimeter and also running a continuity test.
So this tool is highly recommended...
Get one on amazon now..very affordable..
4)Electronics tool box.
This tool box contains individual tools not mentioned in this tutorial.. So go get your electronics tool box right here on amazon..
Note:Tools may vary depending on the brand you purchase .In that case you might lack some tools I will be using in this course of tutorials. So I recommend you get it on amazon..the link above.
5)Arduino Starter kit .
Last but not the least to complete our mini desktop lab,is the arduino starter kit.So why arduino?Arduino starter kit contains electronic components needed to understand the basics of electronics .when you talk of resistors, capacitors, diodes etc. They are all inside this supper kit. This is something cool 'cos it saves you time from buying all those components in pieces. One great secret about the arduino itself is that it is a programmable board meaning you can give it some set of instructions to perform a task or function for you in your own way.We can use arduino to build robots through programming. This topic on arduino and robotics is the last tutorial on this course..so you don't wanna miss it.By the time you finish this course you will be able to build your own circuits and connect them with arduino.Hence the beginning for your robotics journey! So get the arduino starter kit on amazon.....here
...always check out for more contents on electronics.
Thanks for reading...please leave your comments below for better improvement.. Ask questions if you don't understand something.
Are there legal problems working on Electronics . If one isn’t qualified
ReplyDeleteYes...but only if you you are providing a service or product. If for yourself you take your own risks.Nobody cares. Thanks
ReplyDeleteHey, Edwin. Nice seeing you
ReplyDeleteAnd I really hope to learn a lot from your tutorials and blogs.
It's a thumbs up, you've started a good work and keep it up and moving. God bless you
Thank you very much.God bless you too.
